Handwashing is the preferred method for cleaning post-surgery bras, as it is gentler on the delicate fabrics. However, machine washing is possible on a gentle cycle in a protective laundry bag.
- Wash every 2–3 days. Frequency of washing depends on the type of bra and activity level, with sports bras needing cleaning after each use.
- Gentle detergents should be used to avoid damaging the fabric.
- Air drying, away from direct heat (e.g. tumble dryer, heater) is recommended to preserve the shape and elasticity of the bras.
- Proper storage in specialized boxes or hangers helps maintain the shape and support of the bras.
